JOINT BASE LEWIS-MCCHORD, Wash. ? The Washington State Patrol says a rendering truck that spilled dead animal parts across two lanes of northbound Interstate 5 created an 11-kilometre traffic backup Thursday evening.

Trooper Guy Gill says the truck driver stopped quickly to avoid slow-moving traffic in front of him as he was passing Joint Base Lewis-McChord.

What Gill delicately described as ?the cargo? spilled over the sides of the open container.

A front-end loader was brought in to clean up and the lanes reopened shortly before 9 p.m. Gill says the driver was cited for failure to secure his load.

In a photo post on Twitter, Gill said, ?I know this doesn?t look good but trust me, it smells even worse!?

The trooper says the same thing happened in the same area in late June when a rendering truck braked quickly and its load ?just sloshed over.?

Sony's Q1 earnings show a $35 million net profit, mobile revenue jumps 36 percent

Sony's Q1 earnings show a $35 million net profit, mobile revenue jumps 36 percent

Sony's first earnings report of the new financial year is in and it's eked out a profit, albeit a small one. The $35 million net profit is an improvement from last year's results for the same period, and the good news is most pronounced in its Mobile Products & Communications department. Revenue grew 36 percent from last year, partially due to changes in the value of the yen, but also thanks to higher sales for smartphones (9.6 million units), and a higher average selling price. The games division recorded an operating loss for the quarter, as sales of the PS3, PSP and PS2 dropped slightly while spending on R&D for the upcoming PlayStation 4 rose. Sony's new TV strategy may have shown some results, with year-on-years sales up 18.2 percent and attributed to an "improved product mix in LCD TVs" and cost reductions.

New Sony Xperia Z, ZL and ZR firmware update rolling out, improves low-light photos and screen contrast

i love how every new version of android is considered smoother and has less lag but current gen all scream "what lag? its buttery smooth. jelly bean eliminated lag. etc etc etc"

good to know that the flagships got an update... hope the others are around the corner

3. itsdeepak4u2000 posted on 1 hour ago 2

Yes, true, but FYI this is a firmware update from Sony which'll improve their Xperia line's performances a lot.

Very good Sony.

4. Taters posted on 1 hour ago 0

Not all Android devices are created equally. Some simply do not have it. The Xperia Z did however.

Now these phones start to get interesting. ;) I've seen the new camera shots and they are completely different from the one that came out with the original firmware: it's a pity that all the reviews are not up to date, but of course we can't ask every reviewer to test the camera again.
Also, the UI where the grey items (status bar, button bar) have been changed to black (like in every other phone) doesn't convey anymore the sensation of a "washed out" screen.
I wonder when manufacturers will realize how important it is to release a phone with an optimized firmware. Reviews come out during the first weeks, and once they're out they will stay there forever.
